The Clinical Veterinary Hospital treats over 9,000 patients every year, divided into small and large animals. This therapeutic work is compiled by teaching essential knowledge and techniques to our veterinary students to ensure they master all techniques and familiarise themselves with all kinds of challenges through practice.
In addition, our post-graduate programmes provide training to young veterinarians in anaesthesia, internal medicine and equine surgery, as well as small animal surgery and medicine.
As a teaching hospital, students from Alfonso X El Sabio University are continuously learning through practice in the final years of their studies, thereby promoting the relationship with the labour market in veterinary clinics. Veterinary studies at the university are designed to understand symptoms that indicate a particular disease in an animal and, through recognition, lead to diagnosis and treatment. We prepare our students to understand the prevention of zoonosis, understand how to achieve peak performance in agricultural farms, manage domestic animals, and master aspects of food inspection and health control.

We also rely on veterinary facilities that specialise in large animals, particularly in equines. The systems we use include state-of-the-art imaging media, including digital radiology and nuclear magnetic resonance with specific software treatment. We are the first centre to perform MRI scans while the equine is on foot, while we also boast a rehabilitation pool, treadmill for training, and dynamic endoscopies and in the surgery area, we have two fully equipped operating rooms, ICU and hospital boxes.
