With 25 years’ experience and over 5,500 qualified dentists, the UAX Dentistry Degree focuses on developing your full potential and talent through rigorous theoretical teaching and intense practical training based on experiential learning in real clinics.

We are the university that offers the most practical hours: 200 hours of preclinical internships and 1000 hours of clinical practice (providing students with highly personalised training by learning in groups of 4 students per teacher). 

You will also be able to train at the University Dental Clinic and our Dental Centre for Innovation and Advanced Specialities, both located in the centre of Madrid. There, we treat over 125,000 patients each year and cover all dental specialities, providing you with a 360º overview of the profession. Our students receive such a high level of practical training, that clinical professionals choose UAX students.

You will also stay up to date with the latest treatment trends and dental techniques by participating in conferences, congresses and university activities, thanks to UAX’s connection with the Spanish Dental Association (COEM), and other partners, including Vitis, Colgate and Oral B.

When you graduate, you can continue your specialisation by taking one of the Master’s degrees, which are part of our prestigious post-graduate programme.

Information about the Dentistry Degree

Curriculum

During the UAX Dentistry Degree we place particular emphasis on our students obtaining in-depth theoretical and practical training in case planning and dealing with real clinical cases. Our aim is for them to gain the confidence, expertise and skills required to treat dental pathologies of any complexity.
Students will closely study the key aspects of dentistry to obtain a 360º overview of the profession: implantology, surgery, periodontics, paediatric dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, orthodontics, prosthodontics, etc. They will also be trained in transversal skills such as Management and Marketing (in which they acquire the key knowledge to set up their own business), or medical English, etc. Furthermore, to stay up to date with the realities of the profession, they can participate in congresses, conferences and university activities, such as Hygiene Week or the Dentistry Update Conferences.

Facilities and Methodology

The Dentistry Degree focuses on an updated syllabus, with a predominantly practical methodology (over 50% of the course content is practical), providing contact with the sector. 

Students can train through preclinical internships on campus (over 200 hours) and clinical internships at UAX’s two dental clinics, where they will treat real patients (over 1,000 hours). 

Based on the concept of practical professional training, our innovative curriculum will allow you to immerse yourself in the reality of the profession from all angles and areas of specialisation. You will also have the opportunity to learn alongside top experts who will give you close, personalised attention.

Internships and Connections with Dental Centres

The Dentistry Degree includes 200 hours of preclinical internships from the first year, in order to practise and develop your skills by dealing with real clinical cases. 

You will also carry out 1,000 hours of internships at our own centres, where we treat over 125,000 patients, both adults and children, perform more than 60,000 treatments a year and cover all areas of specialisation.

We place particular emphasis on case planning and dealing with real clinical cases. The aim is for students to gain the confidence, expertise and skills required to treat dental pathologies of any complexity.

Furthermore, we are in constant contact with the sector’s leading companies to adapt the academic curriculum of each of our degrees to the needs of the market.

Thanks to the Erasmus internship programme, you can also choose to do your internship in any European Union country.
