If you have no previous experience in the field of music, as a UAX student and with this 2 ECTS Introduction to Musical Language course (training complement), you will have at your disposal theoretical material for each of the units, recorded webinars and practical reinforcement exercises. In addition, a teacher will accompany you in your progress through messaging and synchronous consultations, resolving any doubts that may arise during the course.

La Universidad Alfonso X El Sabio se ajusta a lo establecido en el art. 15 del Real Decreto 822/2021, de 28 de septiembre, por el que se establece la ordenación de las enseñanzas universitarias y del procedimiento de aseguramiento de su calidad.
El ingreso en la Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio dependerá de las plazas ofertadas y disponibles en la titulación, toda vez se cumplan los requisitos legales de acceso a la Universidad que contempla la legislación vigente.
La Universidad se reserva el derecho de no ofertar una titulación cuando no se alcance el número mínimo de solicitudes establecido por la Universidad para su impartición, para lo cual informará convenientemente a los potenciales estudiantes.
El perfil del estudiante del Grado en Musicología es el de alguien interesado en el conocimiento de la música en su vertiente musicológica, tanto la relacionada con la gestión, recuperación y estudio del patrimonio histórico-musical o la docencia en conservatorios. Además, es recomendable poseer algunas de las siguientes cualidades:

Para la admisión de candidatos se tendrá en cuenta lo siguiente:

En el caso de estudiantes con necesidades educativas específicas derivadas de discapacidad, la Universidad Alfonso X el Sabio dispondrá los servicios de apoyo y asesoramiento adecuados, que evaluarán la necesidad de posibles adaptaciones curriculares, itinerarios o estudios alternativos.

El reconocimiento de créditos en las enseñanzas oficiales de este título se llevará a cabo teniendo en cuenta la adecuación entre las competencias y los conocimientos derivados de las enseñanzas cursadas y los previstos en el plan de estudios de las enseñanzas correspondientes.
Reconocimiento por títulos propios: Número máximo de 15 ECTS
Serán susceptibles de reconocimiento de créditos procedentes de títulos propios las materias básicas pertenecientes a la rama de conocimiento de la titulación, la materia Comunicación en Lengua Extranjera (Inglés) y la materia Comunicación y Nuevas Tecnologías, así como las materias del módulo optativo, siempre y cuando las competencias de la/s misma/s se corresponda/n con las adquiridas por las enseñanzas universitarias no oficiales cursadas por el interesado/a.
Reconocimiento por experiencia profesional o laboral: Número máximo de 36 ECTS
La experiencia profesional o laboral acreditada podrá ser reconocida a efectos del título de Grado en Musicología. Esta experiencia debe estar relacionada con las competencias inherentes a la titulación. Serán susceptibles de reconocimiento de créditos por experiencia profesional o laboral las materias básicas pertenecientes a la rama de conocimiento de la titulación, la materia Comunicación en Lengua Extranjera (Inglés) y la materia Comunicación y Nuevas Tecnologías, así como las materias del módulo optativo, siempre y cuando se cumplan los requisitos que se describen a continuación: Cuando la experiencia profesional o laboral acreditada aporte todas las competencias asociadas a una determinada materia o asignatura, podrán reconocerse los créditos correspondientes a la materia o asignatura. No se podrán reconocer asignaturas de forma parcial. El reconocimiento de créditos por experiencia laboral podrá aplicarse en los siguientes ámbitos de ejercicio profesional: enseñanza de música, interpretación musical, gestión y producción musical, crítica musical, documentación musical, composición, etc.
Se reconocerán 6 ECTS por cada año de experiencia profesional o laboral a tiempo completo o su equivalente a tiempo parcial. Esta duración se refiere a la actividad profesional o laboral realizada para la adquisición de las competencias para las que se solicita el reconocimiento.

La solicitud se podrá completar con una entrevista con el/la interesado/a en la que un equipo docente contrastará si se han adquirido las competencias de las asignaturas o materias para las que solicita el reconocimiento.

The Bachelor's Degree in Musicology is taught by distance learning, but the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts located on the Madrid-Chamartín University Campus is available to students.
At present, the material resources necessary to teach the proposed degree are adequate.
In addition, the final examinations may be taken in person at the University campuses or at the different national or international venues agreed with the University for this purpose.

Music journalist with 25 years of experience. He is currently part of the Culture section of the online newspaper infoLibre, which he joined after almost twenty years at Europa Press. He has also been a contributor to El País and El Independiente, as well as editor of the Spanish edition of Rolling Stone magazine. He is also the founder of the website specialising in music, Mercadeo Pop, which has now been running for more than fifteen years.
Doctor in Musicology and Master in Spanish and Latin American Music (UCM). He has carried out research stays at the Institut de Recherche en Musicologie, at the University of Salamanca and at the University of Nottingham. His main lines of research are Musical Theatre in Spain (17th-18th centuries) and Musical Theory and Treatises in the Modern Age. He was awarded the Prize of the Spanish Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies and the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize of the Complutense University of Madrid.
Graduate in education and professor of musical arts, Master in Latin American musicology, and in Hispanic music. Doctoral candidate in musicology. In 2013 he created the jazz-fusion group MECHA with which he participated in the festival "Sonamos Latinoamérica". PULSAR Award for the best jazz and fusion album, as a composer. He is currently part of the Spanish jazz scene and shares the stage with great musicians such as the drummer Naíma Acuña, the saxophonist César Filiú and the double bass player Mario Carrillo.
PhD in Literary, Linguistic and Theatre Studies with a Master's Degree in Training Teachers of Spanish as a Foreign Language and CAP. Degree in Hispanic Philology. She collaborates with the GIELEN research group and has been part of the TICELE project. In addition, she continues with her lines of research focused on linguistic awareness, specialised languages and corpus linguistics.
Graduate in Musicology (RCSMM) and Master in Spanish and Hispano-American Music (UCM). He has focused his research on the study of Spanish music from the 17th and 19th centuries, with special attention to zarzuela, symphonic music and religious music, from multiple perspectives (genre, analysis, history, culture, iconography).
Graduate in Musicology, Master's degree in Spanish and Latin American Music. He began his doctoral thesis "El concierto público en el Madrid de Fernando VII". Between 2020 and 2023 he was part of the ERC DIDONE research project (ICCMU-UCM), editing eighteenth-century opera seria scores. She teaches at the Conservatorio Profesional de Música "Adolfo Salazar" in Madrid. Her main lines of research focus on the music of the 18th and 19th centuries, music education and the work of the Segovian composer María de Pablos.
Ethnomusicologist and singer specialising in the oral tradition repertoires of the Eastern Mediterranean. Graduate in Philosophy and Master in Arts du Spectacle. Doctoral thesis where she analyses from an ethnographic perspective the halay community dances and their musical accompaniment. Her current research work is in the field of ethno-choreology, music of oral tradition, heritage processes, and the theory of performativity applied to ethnomusicology.

His main lines of research are music industries, symphony orchestras, orchestra conducting, music reception, professional ethics, music lexicography. TEIMUS and LEXIMUS research groups.

AmplificARTE is an educational project developed by the Princess of Girona Foundation that uses music as a transversal discipline and tool to work on the personal development and emotional well-being of young people, while promoting musical culture in educational centres, social entities and other spaces. At UAX, students of Musicology, Psychology and the Master's Degree in Teacher Training collaborate in interdisciplinary projects applied to Higher Education.
Collaboration with the Ellas Crean festival, a benchmark in Madrid in the recovery of women's cultural heritage and the promotion of new artists. Students from the Faculty of Music and Performing Arts have participated in researching historical female composers and promoting their inclusion in the academic repertoire. In addition, the students have worked on writing press releases for the festival. The results were reflected in concerts available on YouTube.
In recent years, several research projects have been developed with the participation of students of the Degree in Musicology as part of their training as one of the main job opportunities. Of particular note is the project "Sounds of the past" where research has been carried out into medieval organology and an oval viola has been reconstructed from the iconography of a 13th century manuscript.
