The UAX Master’s in Aesthetic Medicine is designed for doctors who wish to embark on this field with confidence, sound clinical judgement and a realistic understanding of the sector, through a programme that combines a solid theoretical foundation with progressive practical experience.
With a structure comprising 60 ECTS credits, the programme is aligned with current training requirements in the healthcare sector and responds to developments in the field, which demands professionals who are increasingly well-rounded and prepared for clinical practice.
Throughout the master’s programme, you will develop knowledge of anatomy, ageing and medical-aesthetic treatments, alongside the skills required to safely select, perform and supervise procedures. Learning is supported by clinical case studies, advanced simulation and practical work with real patients, enabling you to progressively apply theory to practice.
As part of this process, students progress from simulation environments to clinical practice with real patients at UAX’s university clinics, always under supervision, which fosters the solid acquisition of technical skills and medical judgement applicable to clinical practice.
This training is complemented by specific masterclasses delivered by practising professionals, designed to explore specific treatments and real-life clinical scenarios in greater depth. These sessions enable students to apply their knowledge to areas such as specific facial techniques, as well as key aspects of professional practice, such as clinic management and personal branding.
Furthermore, in line with the evolution of aesthetic medicine towards a more holistic approach, the programme incorporates content on nutrition and the treatment of obesity, broadening the scope of patient care and adapting to the new demands of the healthcare sector.
The programme boasts a faculty of national and international renown, including professionals such as Sebastián Cotofana, a world-leading authority on anatomy applied to aesthetic medicine; Christopher Payne, founder of the European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology; and Beatriz Berenguer, president of the Spanish Association of Plastic Surgery.

El máster se estructura bajo un modelo semipresencial con un enfoque claramente práctico, combinando formación online flexible con un entrenamiento progresivo orientado a la práctica clínica real.
La parte teórica se desarrolla a través de contenidos en formato asíncrono, lo que permite al alumno acceder a las clases y materiales en cualquier momento y organizar el estudio según su disponibilidad. Este sistema facilita compaginar la formación con la actividad profesional sin renunciar a la continuidad en el aprendizaje.
El proceso formativo se apoya en un aprendizaje basado en casos clínicos, en los que el estudiante trabaja con situaciones reales para desarrollar criterio clínico y capacidad de toma de decisiones en consulta.
A lo largo del programa, el alumno sigue un entrenamiento escalonado, comenzando por entornos de simulación (digital y en simuladores físicos) y avanzando progresivamente hacia la práctica clínica, lo que permite adquirir habilidades técnicas de forma estructurada y segura.
Cada módulo incorpora ejercicios prácticos y autoevaluación, permitiendo consolidar los conocimientos antes de avanzar, asegurando una comprensión progresiva de los contenidos.
El programa culmina con un Trabajo Fin de Máster (TFM) enfocado al desarrollo de un proyecto aplicable a la práctica clínica real, de modo que el trabajo realizado tenga utilidad directa en el ejercicio profesional del alumno.
El Máster de Formación Permanente en Medicina Estética está dirigido exclusivamente a titulados en Medicina, al tratarse de una formación orientada a la práctica clínica en el ámbito sanitario.
Requisitos de acceso

Este requisito garantiza que el estudiante cuenta con la base clínica necesaria para abordar con rigor los contenidos y la práctica del programa.
El máster incluye prácticas curriculares obligatorias (6 ECTS – 250 horas) diseñadas para proporcionar una formación clínica progresiva y aplicada, combinando distintos entornos de aprendizaje a lo largo del programa.
Las actividades prácticas se desarrollan mediante diferentes formatos que se complementan entre sí:
Estas actividades no se plantean como fases aisladas, sino como un itinerario práctico integrado, en el que el alumno combina simulación y práctica clínica a lo largo del programa, consolidando progresivamente sus habilidades.
La formación se desarrolla principalmente en las clínicas odontológicas de UAX en Madrid, un entorno clínico con alto volumen asistencial y equipamiento avanzado, que permite trabajar con pacientes reales en condiciones similares a la práctica profesional.
En conjunto, este planteamiento permite que el estudiante adquiera experiencia práctica real en procedimientos médico‑estéticos, desarrollando seguridad técnica y criterio clínico aplicable a consulta.

Dr. Ruiz has a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Oviedo. Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery with a Master's degree in Aesthetic and Anti-Aging Medicine from the Complutense University of Madrid and a Master's degree in Management and Direction of Health Centres from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. She is in charge of the Reconstructive Surgery team at the University Hospital of Cabueñes and a specialist in facial and body Aesthetic Medicine in different clinics with extensive experience in facial and body hyaluronic acid fillers, toxins and tensor threads, among others. She collaborates with different industry laboratories as an international trainer and opinion leader and is a member of several scientific societies SECPRE, AECEP & SOCIPER.
Coordination
Teresa Galera holds a degree in Biology from the University of Granada and a PhD in Biomedicine from the Autonomous University of Madrid. Her doctoral thesis focuses on the development of induced pluripotent stem cells for disease modelling. Author of more than 10 research articles in prestigious international journals. She holds an executive MBA from the prestigious IE Business School. Since 2021 she has been a mentor at ESAME in the Advanced Therapies MBA. Throughout her professional career she has held various positions in the pharmaceutical and medical device industry, both in the medical department and in clinical operations, leading multidisciplinary teams and managing strategic projects.

An international trainer and industry collaborator, she is renowned for her expertise in facial and body treatments within the field of aesthetic medicine.
She holds a PhD in Biomedicine and an Executive MBA, and has a strong track record in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, where she has led strategic projects and multidisciplinary teams in clinical development and operations. She is currently COO of Gyala Therapeutics.
M.D., Ph.D., Ph.D. Regarded as the world’s leading anatomist in aesthetic medicine, he is an international authority on applied facial anatomy. With two doctorates and an extensive academic career at institutions such as the Mayo Clinic, he combines research and teaching to train healthcare professionals worldwide. He is currently CEO of Cotofana Anatomy Corp and an adjunct professor at Vanderbilt University.
A British dermatologist of international renown in the field of cosmetic and aesthetic dermatology, and co-founder of the ESCAD (European Society of Cosmetic and Aesthetic Dermatology). With extensive clinical and academic experience, he has spearheaded scientific initiatives such as the *Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology*. He is renowned for his expertise in clinical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology and psychodermatology.
Specialist in Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery, with training in anti-ageing, regenerative medicine and management. A founding member of SETGRA and an active participant in various international scientific societies.
