On the Dual Degree in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences and Physiotherapy at UAX Mare Nostrum, we place great importance on high-quality, practical training; for this reason, we have both leading sports facilities and specialised laboratories.
You will study in modern facilities equipped with state-of-the-art equipment, both on our Málaga campus and through our collaboration with the city’s leading sports schools and facilities, thanks to our internal agreements with key players in our local sector, such as the Ciudad Jardín Sports Centre, the Ciudad de Málaga Athletics Stadium and INACUA.
The combination of CAFYD and Physiotherapy will enable you to study in both high-performance sports facilities and specialised clinical laboratories, developing a skill set that is in high demand by clubs, sports centres and multidisciplinary teams.

At UAX Mare Nostrum, you’ll be trained with a practical focus from day one, working on both training and clinical intervention in specialised facilities and under the guidance of practising professionals. A leading academic staff
Our teaching team combines academic excellence with practical experience in sport, health and physical performance, ensuring that our teaching is geared towards professional practice.
PhD Cum Laude in Education, Sport and Health from the University of Vigo, researcher in the CTS 171 Group at the University of Granada and Head of Studies in Physiotherapy and CCAFyD at the University Alfonso X el Sabio. Her research focuses on acrobatic gymnastics, health, sports performance and body image, with numerous international publications. A former national team gymnast, she combines academic and sporting experience with the management of educational innovation projects and the promotion of inclusive and evidence-based physical education.
Degree in Psychology from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a Master's degree in Psycho-oncology and in Bioethics and Law. She has more than 16 years of experience in Palliative Care and Psycho-oncology, forming part of the team at the Cudeca Foundation and the Virgen de la Victoria University Hospital. She has been a lecturer on the Master's Degree in Palliative Care at the University of Malaga and has been a speaker at national and international conferences, and has received recognition for her work in psychosocial care and health training.
PhD Cum Laude in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences, accredited by ANECA and with six years of recognised research. Expert in university teaching in Early Childhood Education, Primary Education and Master's Degree in Physical Education, she has participated in teaching innovation projects and international conferences. Her research focuses on Sport Psychology, with publications in JCR journals and contributions to international conferences, being a member of scientific committees and reviewer of several Sport Science journals.
Diploma in Physiotherapy and Master's Degree in International Health from the University of Malaga. PhD student in Health Sciences in the Biomechanics and Chronic Musculoskeletal Processes research group. Specialist in manual therapy and osteopathy, certified in Functional Movement System (FMS). Physiotherapist for Unicaja Basketball since 1997 and member of the Chair of Health and Pain at the University of Malaga.
Graduate in Physiotherapy from the CEU San Pablo University in Madrid and Master in Manual Therapy from the University of Alcalá de Henares. PhD student in Health and Sport at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid, she has more than 10 years of clinical experience, seven of them at the Hospital QuirónSalud Madrid as rehabilitation coordinator, and at the UAPO Foundation, specialising in oncological physiotherapy and recovery after breast cancer surgery.
Graduate in CAFYD, graduate in physiotherapy and Master in Sports Performance from the University of Barcelona. 9 seasons as part of the first team basketball medical team at Futbol Club Barcelona, 3 years in the department of physical preparation and physiotherapy CAR Sant Cugat, among others.
She holds a degree in Medicine from the University of Málaga, with a specialisation and a Master’s degree in Ophthalmology, and undertook a research placement at the Paul-Flechsig-Institut für Hirnforschung (Leipzig, Germany). With over ten years’ experience in the Andalusian Health System, she combines her clinical work with teaching at CESUR Málaga Este and the University of Málaga as a clinical tutor and ECOE examiner.
Doctor Cum Laude in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences from the Pablo de Olavide University, Graduate in CAFyD from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and Master in Physical and Sport Performance. He has carried out international research stays and has publications in high impact journals and presentations at conferences. His research focuses on exercise physiology, differences between men and women and load monitoring in team sports, combining teaching in undergraduate and master's degree courses and participation in the organisation of conferences such as the Strength Symposium.
PhD in Psychology with a Master’s degree in Health Psychology and a specialist in Contextual Therapies. With over 10 years’ experience in teaching at international universities and in teacher training, he combines clinical practice as a health psychologist with research; he is the author of articles in international journals and co-author of book chapters, as well as participating in conferences and scientific committees.
Graduate in Physiotherapy from the Alfonso X el Sabio University, specialising in neuromusculoskeletal pain and therapeutic exercise. He combines clinical practice with teaching and dissemination in courses, masters and national and international congresses, and is the author of the book Joder, cómo duele! (Arpa, 2025).
Graduate in Physical Activity and Sport Sciences (EADE), with a Master's Degree in High Performance in Sport (COE-UCAM) and a Master's Degree in Teacher Training (University of Malaga). National Athletics Instructor, with experience in physical preparation in football, athletics and sports centres. PhD student at the Universidad Rey Juan Carlos, with publications in high impact JCR journals in Sports Science.

Studying for two degrees at the same time is a challenge, and we want to support you. If you’re already at UAX and enrol on a second degree programme, you’ll receive a grant towards your booking fee and tuition fees.
If you’re a high-performance athlete, at UAX we want to help you balance your passion with your studies. We offer specific grants that can cover up to 50 per cent of your tuition fees.
If you’d like to continue your studies with us and progress from vocational training to a bachelor’s degree, from one bachelor’s degree to another, or from a bachelor’s degree to a postgraduate degree, we’re here to support you with a grant covering up to 25 per cent of your tuition fees.
If you have a strong academic record, we would like to recognise your talent with a scholarship designed for new students. (Excludes the degree in Medicine).
