Morning shift
This officially recognised Master’s degree, accredited by the Official College of Psychologists, will enable you to apply everything you have learnt on your Bachelor’s degree through a practical and intensive clinical approach, translating it into professional practice. You will develop your perceptive and analytical skills, your ability to make independent decisions, and the skills needed to approach each clinical case with rigour and confidence. The teaching staff consists entirely of practising professionals. You will undertake more than 700 hours of practical training in top-tier hospitals and centres, as well as at our new UAX Psychology Clinic.
The Master’s Degree in General Health Psychology, accredited by the Official College of Psychologists, is an official, face-to-face master’s programme with a practical focus, taught at our Chamartín Campus.
WHO IS IT AIMED AT?
It is aimed at graduates with a degree in Psychology who have completed at least 90 ECTS credits in clinical and health-related subjects and wish to qualify as general health psychologists.

The programme is highly practical, featuring advanced techniques taught by experts and over 700 hours of practical training at the UAX Psychology Clinic and other centres.
Its aim is to qualify you as a General Health Psychologist and enhance your career prospects.

The methodology of the Master's Degree in Health Psychology is focused on providing you with the right tools and helping you to develop the competencies and skills necessary to work with patients and their families in any health care setting.
The Master's Degree in General Health Psychology is made up of a complete theoretical programme and an intensive practical block that is divided into two large blocks:
You will use innovative learning methodologies (practical workshops to complement theoretical training, role-playing psychologist-patient interaction).
You will have to take theoretical and theoretical-practical exams in the form of multiple-choice tests.
As a complement to the compulsory practical hours (groups of a maximum of 12 people) you will be able to take monographic sessions, also practical, for more intensive and personalised learning, and led by active professionals who are specialists in their sector.

Pathway and entry requirements
The Master's Degree in General Health Psychology is aimed exclusively at graduates in Psychology, as it is a qualification that enables students to exercise the regulated profession of General Health Psychologist in accordance with the provisions of Law 33/2011.
It is an essential requirement to accredit a minimum of 90 ECTS credits of a health-related nature in previous university training, in accordance with the criteria established in Order ECD/1070/2013.
In addition to the academic profile, students with a clear interest in the assessment and intervention in psychological problems, especially in the field of clinical and health psychology, are sought after, and sensitivity to research and the use of scientific procedures is also valued. Desirable skills are considered to be user-level command of basic computer tools, fluency in Spanish, a sufficient level of English to understand scientific texts, as well as the ability to solve problems, teamwork, empathy, ethical commitment and a respectful and honest attitude.
Admission criteria and tests
Access to the Master's Degree in Psychology is open to graduates/graduates with 90 ECTS in health (a degree is required). They will need at least a B2 level in Spanish. To start the admission process, the following documents must be submitted:

The Alfonso X El Sabio University has approved and published a regulation that regulates the recognition of credits for those students who have taken previous studies or who accredit professional experience related to the master's degree.
In the case of work experience, credits may be recognised as long as the accredited professional activity is directly related to the functions of the General Health Psychologist and has been carried out in centres with health recognition. Recognition may be applied, as a maximum, to the subject of External Practices II, with a limit of 13.5 ECTS (equivalent to 15% of the total load of the master's degree). As a general reference, 0.75 credits are recognised for every 240 hours of accredited experience.
In order to apply for recognition, interested parties must present documentation accrediting their professional activity (such as their employment record), CV and certification from the centre where they have worked, specifying the tasks carried out in psychological assessment, intervention or research.
Recognition is also envisaged for those who have passed the first year of PIR training, as well as for Psychology graduates prior to 2011, whose previous experience and training may be assessed by the Credit Recognition Committee.

His research focuses on ageism and self-perceptions of ageing and its relationship with cognition in older people. PhD in Health Sciences and Degree in Clinical Psychology. He has more than 20 publications and has been principal investigator in several competitive projects. He is a specialist in neuropsychological bases linked to learning difficulties, as well as in psychotherapy of grief, ageing and dementia processes.
PhD in Clinical, Legal and Forensic Psychology, specialist in Forensic Psychology and with a postgraduate degree in training for professionals working with victims of gender violence. A professional with a long career and numerous publications, she is part of the Mental Health Research Group at UAX, where she addresses the relationship between attachment, traumatic beliefs and traumatic symptomatology.
PhD in Psychology and graduate from the University of Jaén. She has 10 years of professional experience, in addition to 6 years of postgraduate teaching experience and 2 years of undergraduate teaching experience. Author of several scientific articles.
PhD in Psychology and Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. Master in Family and Couple Therapy for Health Professionals and Master in Mediation and Conflict Management. Her professional career has been developed in the private clinical setting and in Social Services. She participates in several research groups and is the author of several scientific publications, as well as a speaker at conferences and specialised seminars.
Graduate in Psychology and Master's Degree in Clinical and Health Psychology. He has more than 25 years of professional experience and extensive teaching experience in masters and postgraduate courses. He is the author of several book chapters and scientific articles, and has participated in competitive research projects.

The Official Master's Degree in General Health Psychology lasts 18 months and consists of 90 ECTS. It is a degree that is taught on campus at the Chamartín campus of UAX. It starts in October.
El Máster Universitario en Psicología General Sanitaria habilita para ejercer como psicólogo general sanitario, adquiriendo las competencias adecuadas para la realización de investigaciones, evaluaciones e intervenciones psicológicas sobre los distintos comportamientos.

Psychologists in possession of the Master's Degree in General Health Psychology will be the only ones who will be able to work professionally in the health sector, in private mental health centres, specialised care centres (eating disorders, child and youth, senior citizens, drug addiction, etc.), public and private institutions dedicated to the prevention and promotion of health in different environments (family, work, school), counselling and expert services, health management, research and training. Un psicólogo clínico es un psicólogo especialista en Psicología Clínica, formado normalmente mediante el sistema PIR, y está habilitado para ejercer como especialista en el Sistema Nacional de Salud y en contextos donde se requiere atención psicológica especializada. En cambio, el psicólogo general sanitario es un profesional regulado que obtiene su habilitación a través del Máster Universitario en Psicología General Sanitaria y puede realizar actividades sanitarias de evaluación intervención y promoción de la salud psicológica, principalmente en el ámbito sanitario privado, pero no ocupa la categoría de especialista clínico ni sustituye al psicólogo clínico cuando la normativa exige atención especializada. Main action plans for the degree:
This degree, according to RD 822/2021 (art. 34) must undergo the process of accreditation renewal. During the development of the process, an evaluation team from the Fundación para el Conocimiento Madrimasd will meet with different stakeholders of the degree. In addition, they provide us with a form so that any interested party can indicate to the Foundation those aspects they consider relevant to the development of this programme.
