Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine
A Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM), the dean has a solid international background in large animal medicine, specialising in equines at Auburn University (USA), where she also completed a Master’s degree and was recognised as the Best International Student.
She has been with UAX since 2007, where she has led clinical, teaching and research departments. She took up the post of Dean in 2021, successfully driving forward EAEVE accreditation, national recognition of the veterinary degree and ISO 9000 certification.

Innovation and Research
During 2024, the academic staff of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine submitted or developed 33 proposals across all calls for proposals, 19 of which were approved, meaning that an average of 57.95 per cent of the activities proposed by its staff received funding.
At centre level, meetings are held with various stakeholders within the Monitoring and Improvement Committees (students, graduates, employers, programme coordinators, and administrative and support staff). In this way, information is shared and accountability is ensured regarding the main challenges to be addressed, the results achieved and the key improvement measures implemented.
