The multidisciplinary Cell and Molecular Biology laboratory, known as UAX BIOLAB, is situated in Building B on the Villanueva de la Cañada Campus and covers an area of approximately 25 m².
UAX BIOLAB was founded in 2020 as a multidisciplinary space dedicated to research, innovation and advanced training in the field of biomedical sciences. It is also equipped with scientific apparatus that enables the full range of experimental procedures in molecular and cellular biology and microbiology to be carried out.

Learning in a conventional laboratory is not the same as learning in a professional laboratory. That is why UAX has created the UAX-BioLAB for students with an interest in research and healthcare. It is a state-of-the-art laboratory equipped with cutting-edge technology and the equipment typically found in a professional biotechnology laboratory. In addition, UAX-BioLAB features a cell culture room with eight individual workstations.
UAX-BioLAB supports practical placements for the Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology , the Bachelor’s degree in Biomedicine , the Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy , the Bachelor’s degree in Medicine , the Bachelor’s degree in Veterinary Medicine and other healthcare-related degree programmes, with a focus on developing research activities and output.
