The aim of the Master’s programme is to provide you with specialised training as a healthcare professional in the field of Clinical Nutrition. Specifically, the programme will cover the concepts of malnutrition and disease-related malnutrition in various clinical contexts. Throughout the programme, you will be able to update your knowledge and gain a deeper understanding of the early detection of disease-related malnutrition, as well as how to develop nutritional treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
The Master’s Degree in the Management of Disease-Related Malnutrition is a programme designed in collaboration with Abbott Laboratories and healthcare professionals from leading healthcare centres. High-quality training at your own pace, thanks to an innovative teaching methodology.
The curriculum is structured into 12 modules, each comprising 4–6 sections. The first 6 modules are cross-disciplinary (3 ECTS) and are further subdivided into 3 basic modules and 3 advanced modules. In turn, the final 6 modules are specialised or
disease-specific (6 ECTS).

Objectives • To understand the prevalence of disease-related malnutrition in cancer patients and its impact on the progression of the disease and the development of complications. • To identify the most appropriate screening and nutritional assessment techniques for cancer patients and their optimal clinical application. • To deepen understanding of the various nutritional treatment approaches and the existing evidence regarding the composition of oral and enteral nutrition, as well as the effects of physical exercise on cancer patients. • To evaluate the outcomes of nutritional intervention in cancer patients (survival, progression-free survival, quality of life, cost-effectiveness, etc.) • To understand the ethical implications of nutritional treatment for cancer patients and how to manage the various situations that may arise. Qualification compatible with your professional activity. You will have the possibility of enrolling in each of the modules independently.
For each module completed, you can obtain a certificate. If you take more than 15 credits you can obtain an Expert qualification, and if you take more than 30 credits you will obtain a Specialist qualification.
The possibility of taking more than one module requires a new application for a place and registration for the same module, and it is necessary to have successfully completed the module previously taken. It is not permitted to take more than one module at the same time, with the exception of students who enrol for the full Master's degree.

The Master’s programme concludes in June 2025.
Once the time limit set for completing the various programmes has elapsed, access will be revoked and you will no longer be able to access the programmes’ resources and content.
